Copyright and DMCA Policy

Last updated: 22 October 2026

PicsPivot respects the work of photographers, artists and every other rights holder, and we expect people who use our image tools to respect it too. This page explains how to report an infringement of your copyright on picspivot.com, how someone can answer a report they believe is wrong, and how we treat repeat infringers. PicsPivot is a brand of ToolsPivot, and copyright matters for both are handled by the same team.

PicsPivot is a set of image tools, not a gallery or a hosting service. There is no public page where visitors post, browse or share images, and we do not keep a library of anyone's pictures. Most tools work entirely in the visitor's browser, so the image never reaches us. The files that do reach our server, for HEIC and TIFF conversion and some metadata jobs, are returned to the person who sent them and deleted automatically, within 30 minutes at most. A complaint is therefore most likely to concern one of these:

  • Material we publish ourselves, such as tool descriptions, guides, example images, illustrations and screenshots on our pages. If we have used your work without permission, we will remove it or credit it, as you prefer.
  • Misuse of a tool, for example someone using our tools to alter or redistribute your images, or using the EXIF Viewer to load your images from a web address. We cannot remove a file we no longer hold, but we can block a source address, restrict a tool, or end the access of the person responsible.

Check before you report

Please confirm that you own the copyright or are authorised to act for the owner, and that the use you object to is not allowed by law, for example under fair use, fair dealing or a private-copying exception. A notice about work you do not own, or about a lawful use, can have legal consequences for the sender (see False claims below).

Sending a copyright notice

Email info@picspivot.com with "Copyright Notice" in the subject line. We need every item below before we can act:

  • Your physical or electronic signature, and whether you are the copyright owner or someone authorised to act for them.
  • The copyrighted work you say has been infringed. A representative list is enough if one notice covers several works.
  • The material you object to, described precisely enough for us to find it: the page address on picspivot.com, or, if a tool is being misused, the tool and the source address involved.
  • Your contact details: name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  • A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.

A notice missing any of these may be delayed or may not be actionable.

What happens next

  • We aim to acknowledge a complete notice within 5 business days and to act promptly on a valid one.
  • If the material is on one of our own pages, we remove it or disable access to it.
  • If a tool is being used to reach or alter your work, we may block the source, restrict or switch off the tool, or end the access of the user responsible.
  • If we can identify the user involved, we tell them and send them a copy of your notice, including the contact details in it. Include only details you are content to have passed on.
  • We keep a record of notices so repeat infringement can be spotted.

If your material was removed by mistake

If something of yours was removed or blocked and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, send a counter-notice to info@picspivot.com with "Counter-Notice" in the subject line. It must include:

  • Your signature, name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
  • The material that was removed and where it appeared before removal.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith the material was removed because of a mistake or misidentification.
  • A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of a court where you are located, or where our operator is located if you are outside that country, and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.

We pass your counter-notice to the person who complained. Unless they tell us within a reasonable period that they have started court proceedings, we may restore the material.

Repeat infringers

In appropriate circumstances, we end the access of people who infringe repeatedly:

  • Each time we act on a valid notice about material a user submitted, a strike is recorded against that user.
  • On a third strike, we end that user's access to the service. We may block them from particular tools before then.
  • A strike is withdrawn if the notice behind it is retracted, or if a counter-notice goes unchallenged.
  • PicsPivot has no accounts, so we enforce this by blocking access rather than closing an account.

False claims

Under US law (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)) and similar rules in other countries, anyone who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material infringes copyright, or that it was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages and legal costs. Please make sure your notice or counter-notice is accurate.

Trademarks and other rights

To report a trademark issue, or any other claim that something on PicsPivot infringes your rights, email info@picspivot.com with a description of the right you hold, the material concerned and your contact details.

Which law applies

PicsPivot is operated from India. Because our visitors and providers are international, we follow the notice-and-takedown procedure of the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act set out above. Following it does not mean we accept that the law of any particular country governs our service. Governing law is set out in our Terms of Service.
